Baseball, softball and fast pitch catalog and on-line equipment retailer LineDrive was acquired by  Florida sporting goods conglomerate Matrix Group Limited, Inc. Financial details of the sale were not released.

Title Boxing will continue to operate its present retail location in Lenexa, Kansas, under the “Line Drive” brand for  the foreseeable future and collaborate with Matrix in other areas.
Matrix Group is a multi-title mail order and internet company which markets under Spike Volleyball, Wrestlingone, Baseball Warehouse, Softball Warehouse, Cheer In Style and Sweet & Powerful brands.
In July, Matrix suffered a catastrophic fire which destroyed its automated warehouse and corporate offices. The additional revenue brought by LineDrive will help Matrix restart its proven business model.

“We entered the mail order business in 1999 with the acquisition of Spike Nashbar and have pursued a growth by acquisition strategy designed to balance out our revenue stream.  The additional revenue in our baseball/softball business will bring the company into almost perfect balance,”  related Louis Orloff, President of Matrix. “We have the next acquisition in the works as we continue our growth.”
LineDrive started in 2003 with the mission to be a one-stop-shop for all diamond sports equipment, apparel and accessories.  It has remained in its original Lenexa retail and direct mail distribution center location since inception.
“We were in preparation for a stellar 2010 business year,” LineDrive co-founding partner David Hanson said. “When Louis first contacted me about the opportunity, it was the furthest thing from our minds.  It was a very tough decision but we are totally confident that Matrix will take LineDrive to even new heights.
“This also allows us additional time, manpower and warehouse space for our growing boxing and MMA equipment distribution divisions.”
