Climb High's outdoor specialty retail store, which was established in downtown Burlington, VT over 30 years ago, reopened its doors this week to present a Mammut “store-within-a-store” concept shop. Still located at 191 Bank Street, the new Climb High retail shop is intended to serve the area’s burgeoning climbing and outdoor community.

In addition to overhauling the shop’s interior and visual merchandising infrastructure, new build-outs include a Swiss coffee station free for customers, an event area with a 42-inch inset plasma TV, and 2000 square feet of retail floor space. About 60% of that space is dedicated to the Mammut concept shop, featuring a deep selection of Mammut alpine outerwear, clothing, packs, and equipment. The retail shop also features a complete Raichle footwear center to service the many hikers looking to experience the extensive trail network of Vermont’s Green Mountains.

“We wanted to refresh our retail operation and present an experience to the community in line with what Climb High has provided for many years – a complete selection of high quality outdoor clothing and gear, with friendly and reliable customer service,” said Jeff Cunningham, Marketing Director for Mammut Sports Group USA. “This shop is also the first Mammut concept shop, worldwide. It’s a representation of the Mammut brand and its growing presence in the US market, and embraces the community with a traditional mountain shop feel –coffee, events, and an inviting atmosphere with some very modern updates.”

The new Bank Street shop features strong Mammut branding, and will be utilized as a showroom for new and existing Mammut dealers. Two other Mammut concept shops are slated for opening in Zermatt, Switzerland and Prague, Czech Republic.
