Mainland Headwear Holdings, Ltd has acquired the worldwide exclusive manufacturing rights and distribution rights in Greater China and Japan of The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (“FIFA”) branded headwear from Global Brands Group (“GBG”), the worldwide Master Licensee and store operator for FIFA from 2007 to 2014.
Mr. Peter Ho, CEO of Mainland Headwear, said, “According to figures released by FIFA, licensed products for 1994 FIFA World CupTM achieved US$500 million at retail; for the same event in 1998 licensed product sales grew at an incredible pace to US$1.2 billion at retail, and in 2002 FIFA World CupTM increased 33% to US$1.5 billion at retail. Using 2006 FIFA Men's World CupTM and other similar events as benchmarks for the headwear category, retail sales of Mainland Headwear's products based on the next two Men's World Cups should reach US$240 million to US$320 million.”
