Lubbock’s Famous Brands Closes

Famous Brands Shoes of Lubbock, TX, closed its doors in mid-December. The women’s shoe store filed a liquidation petition with U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Texas. Eldon R. Miller, owner of Famous Brands Shoes, filed a personal Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition Jan. 8.

The petition lists assets of $36,815 and liabilities, primarily related to the business, of $208,630.

The debts include more than $11,200 in property taxes and more than $38,800 in inventory.

Famous Brand Shoes first opened in Lubbock in January 1963.
