Hillerich & Bradsby, the maker of Louisville Slugger, is shutting down its manufacturing facility in Ontario, CA, and moving the operations to China, according to a report in the Courier-Journal of Louisville. The Ontario plant, which made aluminum and composite bats, has 42 employees, according to the report. With the move, the only manufacturing facility the company will keep in America is the wood-bat facility in Louisville.

The report said that Hillerich & Bradsby spokesman Rick Redman said that the move was made because many of the company's competitors have moved similar operations overseas.
