L.L. Bean is closing its call center in Waterville, Maine at the end of April. A spokesperson for the company told WCSH-TV that all year-round employees have been offered positions at call centers in Portland, Bangor or Lewiston.

Some may also be able to work from home as part of a pilot program. Spokesperson Carolyn Beem said the move was more about consolidating facilities and not about reducing the workforce. LL Bean employed 200 people year round in Waterville and 500 people during the holiday season.
