Lids Foundation, the philanthropic support arm of Lids Sports Group, has identified the five finalists who advance to the “people’s choice” round of its 3rd annual “Tip the Hat Award” grants program. Online voting is now open to determine this year’s grand prize winner of $125,000. In total, the 2015 Lids Tip the Hat Award is giving away $300,000 in funding.

From now through February 15, the public is invited to visit www.lidsfoundation.org/2015voting to vote for its favorite healthy and active youth program. Based on voting results, Lids Foundation will award the following five grant amounts:

  • First place: $125,000
  • Second place: $75,000
  • Third place: $50,000
  • Fourth place: $25,000
  • Fifth place: $25,000


2015 Lids Tip the Hat Finalists

The following organizations have been selected by Lids Foundation as this year’s Tip the Hat Award finalists:

Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana – A regional arm of Make-A-Wish, an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Website: oki.wish.org
 
Special Olympics Indiana – a not-for-profit organization that provides year-round training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, reaching more than 11,000 athletes across Indiana. Website: soindiana.org
 
Anthony Munoz Foundation – Cincinnati based nonprofit founded by former Cincinnati Bengal and member of the Pro Football hall of Fame Anthony Muñoz to engage the Tri-State region to impact youth mentally, physically, and spiritually. Website: www.munozfoundation.org
 
Fields & Futures – a registered 501(c)(3) that serves Oklahoma City Public Schools Athletics in its mission to rebuild 44 athletic fields, provide professional development for 265 coaches, and initiate a student mentoring program – all in an effort to grow student participation in sports, giving more kids the opportunity to benefit from that experience and to help strengthen neighborhoods and communities across the district.  Website: fieldsandfutures.org
 
Little Wish Foundation
– Regional nonprofit that grants wishes to children with cancer. Since 2010, it has granted more than 250 “little wishes” to children across Indiana.  Website: www.littlewishfoundation.org
 
Voting is limited to one vote per person. First through fifth place winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 11 the Blue Carpet Awards Ceremony, hosted by Lids Foundation.
