La Sportiva has joined The Conservation Alliance, a membership organization of outdoor industry businesses whose livelihood depends on protecting the natural environment.

Our business relies upon having wild places for recreation, states Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. Were proud to join the other outdoor brands who support The Conservation Alliance and the grants that facilitate the protection of the places we love. This is the biggest charitable contribution that we make all year and were confident that it is put to good use.

La Sportiva joins 185 member companies that make up The Conservation Alliance, which disbursed $1.3 million in grants in 2012 to conservation groups working on grassroots environmental protection. Since its inception in 1989, The Conservation Alliance has contributed more than $11.2 million to grassroots conservation groups throughout North America helping to save more than 42 million acres of wildlands; protect 2,748 miles of rivers; stop or remove 25 dams; designate five marine reserves; and purchase nine climbing areas.

In addition to The Conservation Alliance, La Sportiva also has active partnerships with the Outdoor Industry Association and Renewable Choice Energy. To further reduce its environmental impact, La Sportiva is consistently looking for new technologies and materials that will produce the best mountain footwear and apparel with the least amount of energy, material, and water. La Sportiva is ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and bluesign certified.
