In January 2007, KEEN announced their new Hybrid.Give campaign to highlight the KEEN Foundation and its expanded global efforts. As part of the campaign, KEEN is working closely with their international distributors as they seek out grassroots non-profit organizations in their respective communities.

KEEN Inc and ITOCHU Home Fashion Corporation, sole distributor for KEEN Japan, have announced their commitment in supporting and extending the KEEN Foundation in Japan. This includes one-time matching grants to KEEN Japan in support of The Conservation Alliance Japan, Surfrider Foundation Japan and Earthday. These organizations are independent of their US counterparts, but have similar mission statements.

Conservation Alliance Japan
The Conservation Alliance Japan is a group of outdoor businesses working together to help protect and conserve threatened wild places for their habitat and recreation value.

Surfrider Japan
Founded in 1992, the Surfrider Foundation Japan is a grassroots, non-profit that works to protect the oceans, waves, and beaches in Japan.

Earthday Japan
Earthday Japan seeks to grow and diversify the environmental movement worldwide, and to mobilize it as the most effective vehicle for promoting a healthy, sustainable planet.

“At ITOCHU, we maintain the ideas and perspectives that are not only close to our customers, but to the non-profit organizations that we support in partnership with KEEN. We believe in a ‘high-value-added service’ in all that we do. Conservation and sustainability are very import to ITOCHU, and we are honored to work side by side with KEEN in these areas,” comments Masaki Takagi, General Manager.
