K2 Promotes O’Connor to Nat’l Sales Manager

K2 Snowboards promoted John O’Connor to national sales manager to oversee the brand’s U.S. accounts. Previously O’Connor worked as the snowboard category manager for all K2 SPORTS’ snowboard brands, including K2, Ride, 5150 and Morrow. John has worked in the snowboard industry for more than 13 years as an instructor, in retail, and on the manufacturing side of the business. O’Connor joined Ride Snowboards in 1994 and was promoted to snowboard category manager for all K2 SPORTS’ brands in 2000.

In his new position, O’Connor will manage a ten-member independent sales rep force that services the K2 brand across the United States. He will also work closely with K2 snowboard’s product director, brand director and development teams to continue the brand’s legacy of innovative products and the marketing programs that support them. He will start transitioning into his new sales role over the next couple of weeks, and will be full time on the job April 1.

O’Connor will report to Chuck Mason, Sales Director for all K2 Sports Snowboard brands. The snowboard sales team is comprised of Tim Petrick – Vice President of Global Sales, and Mark “Sparky” Williams, Sales Manager for the Morrow, Liquid, 5150, Version, and Velvet brands.

“John knows this business inside and out,” said Tim Petrick, Global Vice President of Sales for K2 SPORTS. “He’s well connected with our sales reps and retailers and understands what they need to successfully sell our products. His knowledge and personality will be a great asset to all K2 retailers around of country.”
