According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played in the U.S. during June were down 2.8 percent compared to June 2013. The biggest regional decline came in South Central, down 8.0 percent.

Other declining regions included Pacific, down 2.4 percent; Mountain, 4.5 percent; West North Central, 7.5
percent; and East North Central, 5.1 percent. Gains were seen in New England, up 5.5 percent; Mid Atlantic, 4.7 percent; and South Atlantic, 1.1 percent.

Public access play was down 3.6 percent and private course activity was up 0.7 percent. There were 3620 contributing golf courses used in this report.
