Jon Muir has been promoted to General Manager of Wilson Racquet Sports. Effective immediately, Muir will report to Wilson President Chris Considine, and will oversee the Racquet Sports business on a global level.

Prior to his new appointment, Muir served as U.S. Director of Sales & Marketing for Wilson Racquet Sports. In this capacity, Muir oversaw the division’s domestic racket specialty sales force and was instrumental in developing and implementing all U.S. marketing strategies for Wilson’s major product introductions. These included the launch of Wilson’s incredibly successful nCode racket technology, as well as the debut of the W line, the first ever comprehensive line of rackets developed exclusively for women. Under Muir’s leadership, the U.S. has continued to build momentum and consistently grown its market share over the past 3 years.

“Jon has the knowledge, passion and skills we need to lead our Global effort,” says Chris Considine, President of Wilson. “This is an exciting time for our racquet sports business and we look forward to Jon leading our team to further our position as the #1 Tennis company in the world.”

Muir joined Wilson in 1997 and brings a strong knowledge base and a wealth of industry experience and relationships to his new role. Building on the momentum and success he achieved managing the U.S. based sales team for the #1 Tennis brand in the world, Muir will now be a driving force behind the Wilson’s global racket business.
