Johnson Outdoor paid $16 million for Jetboil, or roughly 11 times the $1.5 million in operating profits it expects the company to earn in fiscal 2013, according to a 10K filed by the company.


Johnson Outdoors anticipates that Jetboil, which it acquired Nov. 14, will contribute approximately $10 million of sales in fiscal 2013, which began Sept. 29. Jetboil’s unaudited revenues for the 10 months ended Oct. 31, 2012 were approximately $11.5 million, Johnson Outdoors reported.


Johnson Outdoors reported that Jetboil generated operating profits of $1.2 million on $10.8 million in sales in the year ended Dec. 31, 2011 and $541,000 in operating profit on $7.28 million in sales in 2010.
