IPC Beverage Group, makers of the vitamin-enriched ice bar EnergIce, said Dave Howard, the former New York Mets and Madison Square Garden Sports senior executive, has joined its board of directors.
Howard, one of New York’s leading sports business executives, will focus on helping EnergIce with the development of strategic partnerships and business building relationships.
EnergIce, the first of its kind vitamin-enriched premium isotonic ice bar, uses hydrating ingredients packaged in the perfect on-field consumption size of 2.5 ounces and has earned the coveted NSF’s Certified for Sport Certification.
“We are very pleased to welcome Dave Howard to the EnergIce team,” said Glenn Firestone, IPC Beverage Group and EnergIce CEO. “Dave is one of the top executives in sports and brings a wealth of experience covering some of the most iconic brands in the industry. We are fortunate to have someone of Dave’s caliber who, without question, will be instrumental in helping drive the EnergIce brand’s next phase of growth and expansion.”

He led the Sports Division to record revenue during the 2014 fiscal year.
“I am very excited to be joining team EnergIce,” said Howard. “The brand has grown very quickly and the product clearly is a game changer for athletes and the sports and wellness industries. EnergIce has established a new standard for sports hydration and I am honored to part of the brand’s leadership.”
Prior to MSG Sports Howard was a longtime executive with the New York Mets where he had been the highest-ranking non-owner business executive of the MLB franchise. Howard oversaw all revenue-generating business units of the franchise as well as the Mets’ Florida and Minor League business operations.
Dave played both football and baseball at Dartmouth College and graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. degree in Economics (with high honors). He graduated from Fordham Law School cum laude, with a J.D. degree and was Managing Editor of the Fordham Law Review.
