Intrawest Resorts Holdings Inc. reported retail and rental sales at its resorts grew more slowly than skier visits or revenues from its ski schools or food and beverage operations in the quarter ended March 31.


 

The Denver-based company reported skier visits to its seven mountain resorts increased 5.5 percent to 2.25 million in its third fiscal quarter, while Retail and Rental revenues increased 1.4 percent to $25.0 million. Ski School and Food and Beverage sales, meanwhile, increased 6.2 and 6.1 percent respectively.

 

Retail and Rental revenues for the 2013-14 ski season ended April 30 increased 4.5 percent, or well below the 7.9 percent increase in ski visits, 8.1 percent increase in Ski School revenues and 8.2 percent in Food and Beverage sales.
Intrawest owns and operates Steamboat Ski & Resort and Winter Park Resort in Colorado, Mont Tremblant Resort in Quebec, Stratton Mountain Resort in Vermont, Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia and half of Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Pennsylvania. Its Adventure Segment operates an adventure travel business that includes one of the largest heli-ski tour operators in North America.

 

Intrawest expects reportable segment revenue to be in the range of $497 million to $507 million for the full fiscal year, up 2 to 4 percent.
