Icebug, a Swedish footwear brand founded in 2001, will be hosting the third annual Icebug Xperience race on the Southeastern Swedish coast in which an increase in international participation this year will set a record for number of participants. The event will take place in Bohuslän, Sweden from August 31 to September 3.

Participants walk and/or run over varying terrain featuring windswept granite coastline, tranquil forests, open fields with the occasional sheep and picturesque small towns and farms. Every day begins and ends with local Swedish food. Over 30 countries have participated in the past, and this year Icebug hopes to continue this growth and diversity, bringing together new friends and creating shared memories.

“It’s not just a race, it’s an all-inclusive experience in every way. We have set the limit at 700 participants and it looks like we will be fully booked before the end of spring,” said Jonas Svengård, race manager at Icebug.

The race covers 75 total kilometers over three days, covering approximately 20-30 kilometers per day. The stages will take participants through forest, smooth red granite slabs, unique stone quarries and small fishing villages. Bohuslän is globally regarded for its environment, with CNN ranking it as one of the world’s last great wilderness areas.
