Icebreaker has opened the doors of its U.S. customer service and distribution center located in Santa Barbara, California. In a move to establish greater reach in the U.S. market, Icebreaker is now positioned to serve its existing and future U.S. retailers with “greater convenience and efficiency.” Icebreaker’s U.S. brand coordinator Seth Dennis will continue to head up U.S. operations from the new facility.

Following a successful independent launch season in winter of 2003 and rapid growth in 2004 to date, Icebreaker CEO Jeremy Moon sees the move as an important next step in Icebreaker’s brand development in the states. “We’re seeing increasing interest from potential retailers, and our existing specialty accounts are seeing sell-through requiring ASAP ordering and a more nimble turnaround”, said Moon. “Icebreaker is positioned for wide-reaching penetration in the outdoor specialty, snow sports, and active wear markets, and we intend to provide as high a level of service to our dealers and consumers in the U.S. as we do globally. Establishing a U.S. service center is a logical next step in reaching this goal, while securing our position as the category leader for merino active wear.”

Icebreaker is currently distributed to over 800 stores in 15 countries throughout Europe, Asia, Australasia, and North America.
