Hibear recently collaborated with artist Bryn Merrell to create the artwork that appears on its limited-edition (LE2) Sierra Sippon Flask. The All-Day Adventure Flask’s exterior illustration interprets the geography of the Sierra Mountains, with the Southern end, inspired by where Merrell calls home.
Hibear’s founder, Mark Tsigounis, designed the flask.
Before forging her path as an independent artist, Merrell spent several years working in the outdoor industry. Spending most of her free time outdoors, she creates a playful and whimsical interpretation of her surroundings through various mediums. Many of her art pieces reflect her love and fascination for the Sierra Range. For the LE2 collaboration with Hibear, she depicts Lake Tahoe, Half Dome, Banner Peak in Ansel Adams Wilderness, Bridal Falls, and Mount Whitney.
“I was ecstatic to receive the news that I was selected to create a custom bottle design with Hibear. I’ve been daydreaming about using the All-Day Adventure Flask on long backpacking trips, lakeside relaxing and sunrise summits here in the Sierra. Our home seemed like the perfect muse to make this bottle design into a reality,” said Merrell.
Hibear also collaborated with DESO, a small batch, outdoor lifestyle apparel brand from California, to create and manufacture its USA-made Sierra Sippin’ Corduroy Hat timed with the limited edition flask’s release. The unstructured five-panel cap of 100 percent cotton corduroy includes a leather strap adjustment and a woven patch designed by Merrell on the front panel. For more product information, go here.
