The Harlem Globetrotters have appointed Peter LaPointe as the team’s new senior vice president, sponsorship sales.

LaPointe is a 14-year veteran of the National Football League, where he spent the past eight years working on the development of the NFL’s international business. LaPointe was the Senior Director of Global Sponsorship, overseeing the business development and corporate partnership activities for the NFL’s international offices in Toronto, Mexico City, London, Tokyo, and China. LaPointe also oversaw consumer products and fan development activities during his time in the international division.

“Peter brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team,” said Globetrotters CEO Kurt Schneider. “He will help tremendously in our efforts to build upon the Globetrotters’ unrivaled brand heritage and push us into new and complementary revenue streams. We are extremely pleased and lucky to have him on board.”

LaPointe joined NFLI as Senior Director of Fan and Commercial Development in 1998, following five years with NFL Properties as Director of Children’s Apparel for the Consumer Products Division.

“I am very excited to be joining such an esteemed institution,” said LaPointe. “I look forward to helping the Globetrotters evolve into one of the world’s most unique and dynamic entertainment properties and adding partners to join Campbell Soup Company in championing this one-of-a-kind brand of family entertainment.”
