Habana Joe Trading Company named former Major League baseball player, Ralph Citarella, as its Athletic Relations Liaison.
Ralph Citarella pitched with the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago White Sox throughout the 1980's and played alongside such baseball greats as Ozzie Smith, Bruce Sutter, Carlton Fisk and Ozzie Guillen. Since his retirement from baseball, he has focused his attention towards golf and is a regular participant in numerous celebrity golf tournaments. Mr. Citarella will be working closely with Joe Gere, founder and president of Habana Joe, to create a golf apparel line that will incorporate style and functionality the way Habana Joe's Dock to Dine line has done for marine wear.
“We are taking the company to the next level”, says Joe Gere. “Our clothing represents a lifestyle–yachting, fishing, golfing . . . all enjoyable past times. Ralph understands our vision and sees where we can go. We are excited to have him aboard to help us with our mission – developing clothing for life's better moments.”
Inspired by legends of his grandfather's many fishing expeditions to Cuba, Joe Gere, a recreational fisherman himself, created the Dock to Dine line to honor his grandfather's legacy, along with the legacy of all great fisherman and fishing grounds of the past. The clothing line combines the resort, yachting and fishing atmosphere of Havana, Cuba in the 40's and 50's with modern sensibilities.
