Outlast Technologies, Inc. hired Vann Brown as Vice President of Business Development. Brown has been selected to spearhead apparel market development for Outlast in North America.

“Vann is coming on board at an important juncture for Outlast,” says Dr. Patrick Gruber, President and CEO of Outlast Technologies. “With the debut of our viscose fiber, recent developments with Infusion TechnologyTM and spray technology, and applications such as knife-over-roll and pad coating, the technology can now be used in a whole litany of fibers and fabrics. Vann will be instrumental in further developing a solid customer base for Outlast in previously untouched apparel markets.”

In the last 20 years, Brown has worked in the textile industry in virtually all geographies from North America to Europe and Asia. Most recently, he held a top spot at NatureWorks LLC as Global Platform Leader, has previously served as Vice President of Product Development and Technical Services at Marubeni Denim and Director of Research & Development for Mount Vernon Mills, Inc. With his extensive background dealing with brands, retailers and manufacturers, Brown is thoroughly versed in every type of fiber: international and domestic apparel, carpet, automotive, household, industrial, institutional and nonwovens markets.

On making the jump to Outlast, Brown says, “This is great team of people. The technology is intriguing and the possibilities are endless. Outlast has not yet reached its full market potential – I’m looking forward to what I believe will be a rewarding challenge…to watch this company grow at an exponential rate from where it is today.”

A father of three, Brown is an avid fisherman and easily admits to having been “outfished” by his wife a time or two. He’s a leader in the Boy Scouts of America and a diehard fan of University of Georgia football. Brown holds a BA in Business Administration from Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia.
