The Grassroots Outdoor Alliance hired Roanne Miller as the organization's new President/CEO.  Miller will take the leadership role effective immediately.  Miller replaces David Matz, who served as president of the organization until his departure on Sept. 30 to take another job outside of the outdoor industry.

Roanne brings over twenty years of experience both inside and outside of the outdoor industry to Grassroots.  Her previous positions have included outdoor guide, retail shop owner, buyer, consultant, merchandising director, director of business development, design board member, product manager, and national sales director.

Most recently, Roanne was VP of Sales at Marmot and oversaw the North American and International Sales channels. She also had oversight of Business Development and Visual Merchandising programs.

Commenting on her new position, Miller said, “In this challenging retail climate where value, differentiation and service are paramount, I look forward to using my experience and perspective to build programs and provide assistance to the Grassroots membership that strengthens their businesses and in addition enhances access to the outdoors for their customers.”

Miller currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Alpine Club as well as an Advisory Board Member to The Summit Huts Association. Miller is an avid climber, skier and cyclist. She enjoys travel, motorcycles, reading and spending time with her husband and family.
