Goode Ski Technologies is moving production of all its snow skisfrom China to its headquarters in Ogden, Utah, the company announced Monday.
The company, which specializes in making premium carbon fiber water and snow skis, plans to hire 20 to 30 more product workers in coming months and could expand employment at the Ogden plant by 100 within the next couple of years, Goode Ski Technologies President Dave Goode told ABC 4 News.
The announcement marked another victory for Ogden and its Mayor Matthew Godfrey, who has been promoting the city as the “High Adventure Capital of the World” since the late 1990s. The strategy emphasizes the proximity of mountain- and water-based recreation and has helped attract the U.S. headquarters for severa European outdoor brands, including Amer Sports Winter & Outdoor, Rossignol and Scott. Ogden is also home of Peregine Outfitters Inc.
