Golf rounds played rose 25.5 percent for the month of September and are up 8.7 percent in the year-to-date period, according to Golf Datatech.
By region, for September, the highest growth was seen in West North Central, 36.6 percent; followed by East North Central, 28.7 percent; New England, 28.0 percent; Mid-Atlantic, 25.9 percent; South Central, 25.5 percent; Mountain, 25.4 percent; South Atlantic, 17.8 percent; and Pacific, 15.6 percent.
Golf rounds played have recovered strongly following the reopening of golf courses across the country starting in May. According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played returned to growth with a 6.2 percent gain in May, an increase of 13.9 percent in June; 19.7 percent in July; and 20.6 percent in August.
