According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played slipped 0.9 percent during May versus the year-ago month although most regions showed gains.
The largest increase in rounds played came in Mid Atlantic, up 12.6 percent; followed by New England, 10.8 percent; East North Central, 4.9 percent; South Atlantic, 3.3 percent; and Pacific, 1.2 percent.
The biggest decline in rounds played in May occurred in the South Central region, down 12.6 percent. West North Central declined 7.8 percent while nearby Mountain was off 7.3 percent.
Public access play was up 0.9 percent and private course activity was down 0.9 percent. The total US 2015 year to date comparison is up 1.6 percent.
