According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played in the U.S. were up 4.7 percent in September year-over-year on a national level.
Among regions, the largest gain came from the Mid Atlantic, up 16.6 percent; followed by South Atlantic, ahead 11.2 percent; New England, 11.6 percent; South Central, 10.4 percent; East North Central, 6.3 percent; and West North Central, 3.8 percent.
The two declining regions were Pacific, down 10.1 percent; and Mountain, 10.8 percent.
Year-to-date, golf rounds played are up 0.6 percent.
The 4.7 percent gain represents the second-straight positive month for golf rounds after an increase of 3.5 percent in August.
