GO Sport Group, a French sporting goods retailer with more than 300 outlets, saw same-store sales grow 5.3 percent in currency-neutral terms in the six months ended June 30, its parent company Rallye reported.
The pace continued into the current quarter with an increase in both traffic and volume, according to Rallye, which earns most its sales from Casino Group, which reported about $26.5 billion in sales from its global food retailing businesses.
At GO Sport, growth accelerated at the specialty running banner Courir during the first half as it integrated 18 stores formerly under the Bata banner. As of June 30, GO Sport and Courir had grown their franchise networks to 15 and 14 stores respectively. GO Sport Group’s EBITDA and current operating income were up slightly versus the first half of 2014.
Rallye did not release GO Sport's euro sales, but the sporting goods retailer reported sales of about $715 million in 2014.
