Italy-based outdoor footwear brand Garmont is re-entering the Canadian Market.

The company, which re-entered the U.S. market more than a year ago after a few years away from North America, named Stephen Bergeron to lead its Canadian efforts as general manager. Bergeron’s initial focus will be building a team of sales representatives and supporting retailers with Garmont Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 product initiatives.

“After a successful first full year delivering footwear in the United States, we see great opportunity in the Canadian market,” said Bill Dodge, CEO of Garmont North America. “The Garmont brand already has a strong reputation in Canada. Our quality product is ideal for Canadian outdoor adventurers and we are seeing positive feedback from key retail partners.”

Prior to Garmont, Bergeron worked in sales, retail and marketing capacities for Trango World, La Sportiva, Kayland and Icebug. To date, he has appointed sales teams in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec to support Garmont. Darin Riedel will represent Garmont in Alberta and British Columbia, Bill Dee will support Ontario, Adam Merkosky will represent Alberta and the Northwest Territories and Bergeron will manage the Quebec/Maritimes territory.
