Fruit of the Loom Inc, a maker of underwear and other apparel, on
Wednesday said it will close its Jerzees de Choloma plant in Choloma,
Honduras, within the next few months, resulting in a loss of 800 jobs.

According to a statement, the decision to close the facility resulted
from a shift in product demand and the ongoing consolidation of Fruit
of the Loom and Russell Corporation manufacturing following the
acquisition of Russell Corp. by Fruit of the Loom, Inc. in 2006.

The company will work with the employees to ensure they receive all
legally required benefits and to identify potential job opportunities
at other company facilities. Fruit of the Loom is part of Berkshire
Hathaway.
