The Sustainable Apparel Coalition, a leading association representing the apparel, footwear and textile industry in sustainability, announced that its board of directors has confirmed the appointment of Amina Razvi as executive director. Razvi has assumed day-to-day leadership of the Coalition and has responsibility for its global operations.

First L.L.Bean Retail Store In Canada To Open In August

L.L.Bean through a partnership will open its first-ever Canadian retail location in the company’s 107-year history. The 13,000 square foot store is set to open on August 23r in Oakville Place, just outside Toronto, via an exclusive agreement with Jaytex Group, a 40-year old Canadian distributor of brand name outerwear and apparel.

Decathlon To Open New Store in San Francisco

Decathlon announced that it will be opening another major brick and mortar store in the Bay Area, its third location in the U.S. The newest location be in the Potrero Center shopping mall at the corner of 16th Street and Bryant Street.

Skechers Earnings Surge In Q2

Skechers USA Inc. reported second-quarter earnings jumped 66.0 percent, easily ahead of Wall Street’s targets, as revenues gained 13.7 percent on a currency-neutral basis. The revenue gains were driven by increases of 19.8 percent in the company’s international business and 1.5 percent in its domestic business.

Nike Settles Racial Discrimination Lawsuit

Nike has settled a racial discrimination lawsuit initially filed in 2017 by a 15-year company veteran just before the case was heading for trial. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. A Nike spokesman told Portland Business Journal that lawsuit was resolved to both parties’ satisfaction.”
