Fleet Feet announced that franchisees Misty and Jeff Ehret have opened a second store today, July 31, on Florida’s Golf Coast in the SweetBay Town Center in Panama City. The couple opened their first Fleet Feet store in Inlet Beach, FL, in 2023, and stated that they have seen the local running community surge in the past two years.
Fleet Feet reports that run clubs and race participation in Northwest Florida have experienced significant growth, and store sales at the Ehret’s Inlet Beach location have increased by 19 percent year-over-year.
“Fleet Feet has always been about more than shoes,” said Misty. “It’s about showing up for the community, offering expert support, and building a place where movement and motivation intersect. Panama City has such an active culture, and we’re excited to play a small role in continuing to help the community thrive.”
Prior to becoming a Fleet Feet store franchisee, Misty spent 25 years in nuclear medicine and health care management. Jeff recently retired after a 35-year career in the beverage industry, where he served as a national sales director. Their interest in Fleet Feet ownership reportedly began while supporting their daughter, Coral, a former Fleet Feet Louisville employee, as she trained for junior triathlons near their home. She now plays an active role in the business, serving as the apparel buyer and social media manager.
Jeff Ehret recently competed for Team USA in the World Masters 10K in Gainesville, FL, in March 2025.
“Misty and Jeff have built something special in Inlet Beach using a community-first approach,” said Jason Jabaut, chief operating officer at Fleet Feet, Inc. “Their second location is a reflection of that success and the growing demand for places where people feel supported in their health and fitness journeys. We’re confident they’ll quickly become a cornerstone for the running and walking community in Panama City.”
