The Finish Line will open its 500th retail store at the Mall of America on Friday, August 1, 2003. To celebrate the grand opening, Finish Line will give away 500 pairs of shoes to the first 500 customers in line. The new Finish Line location will offer customers the best selection of premium product that cannot be found anywhere else in the mall.
Finish Line executives will take part in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony just before the gates open at 10:00 a.m. In addition, employees will distribute a limited number of coupons while customers can register for their chance to win a $250 shopping spree.
“Twenty-seven years ago, Finish Line was a 1,000 square-foot store on Monument Circle in Indianapolis, Indiana,” said Finish Line President and CEO Alan Cohen. “Today Finish Line became a 500-store chain with nearly three million square-feet of retail space. This is a monumental day for everyone in the company. It is because of the dedication of all our employees that we have been able to survive, grow and thrive during the past three decades.”
