Golf Datatech reported that golf rounds played in February were down 5.9 percent compared to February 2012. Regions seeing drastic declines included New England, down 92.8 percent; Mid Atlantic, 80.2 percent; East North Central, 67.6 percent; and West North Central, 40.3 percent.
Other declining regions included Pacific, down 2.2 percent; Mountain, 2.8 percent; and South Atlantic, 9.6 percent. The one positive region was South Central, up 6.7 percent.
Public access play was down 3.9 percent and private course activity was down 11.5 percent.
