The Pittsburgh Pirates, in partnership with Fanatics, opened its doors to a new retail experience at PNC Park. The new Pirates Clubhouse store is a single-level retail space more than double the size of its previous location.

The Pirates and Fanatics first partnered in 2016. The opening of the new Clubhouse store kicks off a recent ten-year extension and expansion of the deal, which will see the team tap into several areas of the broader Fanatics business to elevate the retail experience for Pirates fans.

The Pirates Clubhouse store represents a first-of-its-kind brick-and-mortar retail experience at a ballpark for Fanatics. In addition to an expanded merchandise assortment, the store features concept shops in the larger store space from brands including Nike, Mitchell & Ness and WinCraft. Other store features include:

  • A design aesthetic celebrating Pittsburgh history, drawing inspiration from local culture, including yellow beams to honor Pittsburgh’s iconic Three Sisters Bridge;
  • The exclusive sale of Pirates authenticated game-used and autographed memorabilia;
  • A Topps baseball card activation station where fans can customize Topps baseball cards;
  • A customized jersey station where fans can personalize Pirates jerseys;
  • Self-check-out technology; and
  • Ticker tape-style LED screens that line the retail space.

“This is another example of how we are working hard to continue to evolve the fan experience at PNC Park,” said Travis Williams, Pirates president. “From the beginning, Fanatics has been a fantastic partner in creating this new retail experience featuring unique elements and offerings for our fans. The open floor plan, single-level experience not only enhances the game day experience but the Federal Street experience year-round.”

“We appreciate the Pirates continued commitment to bringing a best-in-class retail experience to fans at PNC Park, and we’re incredibly proud to officially open this new state-of-the-art shopping experience,” said Ed O’Brien, Fanatics SVP of business development. “By tapping into brands across our network, Fanatics will create an elevated retail footprint which allows Pirates fans to create deeper connections with the team and players they love.”

Pirates fans can access the 8,450-square-foot store from outside the ballpark on Federal Street and underneath the ballpark where the left field bleachers are. The new store is over twice as large as the previous store, signaling the Pirates’ commitment to improving the PNC Park retail experience.
