Exotac, a design driven maker of premium fire starters, containers and other outdoor gear, has created a dedicated customer service department to better support sales, which spiked after it exhibited for the first time at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market last August.

The new department will be managed by Peggy Payne.

“Until now, everyone here has just pitched in to help with customer service,” said Rob Falkenhayn, president of Exotac, which is based in Buford, GA. “But in order to keep up with increased orders and dealer support, we needed to expand. Peggy is a terrific addition.”

Payne, who hails from Atlanta, has spent the last five years at Harima Chemical, Co., helping make products based on active pine tree extracts.

“As we head into 2012, our sales team will continue working to establish long term relationships with key retailers and distributors, but we strive to improve the connection between Exotac and the end customer and believe this new customer service team is critical,” said Falkenhayn.

Exotac was started in 2010 by Purdue Engineering graduate Rob Falkenhayn and currently offers a line of fire starters and containers. Melding a penchant for sleek, sexy design with a dedication to creating the highest-quality products, the core of Exotac is in its engineering.

“We spare no expense and make absolutely no compromises when it comes to product design and manufacturing quality. Our products are not mass-manufactured by the lowest bidder. We manufacture each product in smaller quantity runs which allow us to make improvements along the way.”
