Execute Sports, Inc. has filed a broad patent for its Kampus Drain System (KDS) technology, covering design and application for Kampus' footwear products, specifically targeted towards the action water sports market.
Execute Sports' KDS technology is built into Kampus' footwear providing a drain system that penetrates through the insole line, and releases onto the Lightweight EVA mid-sol, which has channeled drain passages to exit water freely.
Duane Pacha, brand manager and head of product development at Execute Sports initially developed the KDS technology for the core wake skate market, “We wanted to create a shoe that would enhance performance for our pro riders and other wake skaters, and realized very quickly that the shoe is a fantastic all around water shoe and has appeal in the lifestyle shoe market as well.”
The KDS technology and Kampus footwear line has achieved industry acclaim, winning the Water Sports Product of the Year last summer at ISPO, the largest sporting goods product tradeshow in Europe. “The award at ISPO validated the technology that we have developed to support the Kampus footwear line, and we are looking forward to rolling out the Kampus shoe line aggressively this next year,” Pacha added.
The water sports and amphibious shoe market is estimated to represent $150 million to $200 million in annual sales, according to Emergent Growth Analytics.
