Eastern Mountain Sports is launching a new program that will reward its customers for reducing carbon emissions by carpooling, vanpooling, walking, biking, telecommuting and taking public transportation. To facilitate the program, EMS partnered with NuRide, a commuter rewards company that provides special offers to members for taking greener trips and reducing global warming, traffic congestion and energy consumption.

EMS customers will be able to earn points for every trip recorded on the NuRide web site, which can be redeemed for a variety of rewards including discounts on purchases from Eastern Mountain Sports.

“Eastern Mountain Sports has long been committed to preserving and protecting the places where we love to play through our Future Consciousness campaign' said Scott Barrett, EMS’ chief marketing officer. “Commuter Consciousness enables us to take our conservation efforts a step further by encouraging commuters to change the way they get to work.”
