Boat show producer and marine magazine publisher Duncan McIntosh Co. announced new ownership of The Fred Hall Shows, which produces West Coast fishing, boating, hunting and recreation travel consumer events.

The American Sportfishing Association (ASA) has sold the shows to the newly formed corporation, Fred Hall Shows, Inc. This entity will consist of Duncan McIntosh, Bart Hall and son Travis Hall.

While the shows are changing hands, “its business as usual,” said company President, Duncan McIntosh. The show’s team remains in place. Our goal is to make the change a non-event as we prepare for our version of March madness.”

Bart Hall continues his role as show producer; Mike Lum remains general manager with Tim Baker as associate producer and show coordinator Katie Hall. Travis Hall will be joining the company, as the third generation of Halls steps out from behind the curtain.

“This represents a great opportunity for us to bring the ownership and management of these events back to Southern California,” said McIntosh.  “It’s also our goal that substantial ownership of the Fred Hall Shows be returned to the Hall family where it all began nearly 70 years ago.”

“This means a great deal to me,” said Bart Hall. “Having the Hall family again involved in an ownership position in the Fred Hall Shows means that we can begin to provide a foundation for the next 70 years of these world class events.”

For 68 years, the annual Fred Hall Fishing Tackle & Boat Shows have been a season-opening tradition for Southern California outdoor enthusiasts. The shows are held in Long Beach and Del Mar and are two of the largest consumer fishing shows in the U.S.
