Dick’s Sporting Goods will open a new store in Raleigh, NC, in August.
The grand opening weekend celebration will be held at Pleasant Valley Promenade (6254 Glenwood Ave.) on August 10 through August 12. With this new store opening, Dick’s will have 729 Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide in 47 states.
The new Dick’s location will bring approximately 70 collective jobs to the community through the hiring of full-time, part-time and temporary associates for this store. The store is joining an existing Golf Galaxy location.
“Raleigh has proven to have a thriving golf community whom we’ve served with a Golf Galaxy at this location for many years,” said Scott Hudler, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Dick’s Sporting Goods. “However, we also identified a larger opportunity to serve the sports and outdoors enthusiasts who live, work and play here. With the addition of a Dick’s Sporting Goods to the Pleasant Valley Promenade, the community can enjoy access to get all of their sports, outdoor and golf needs under one roof.”
In addition to the expert golf pros and wide selection of golf clubs, apparel and equipment from the top brands, customers can expect to find top-of-the-line, in-store services and exclusive offerings to serve many athletic and outdoor needs in a wide selection of apparel, footwear and equipment from the company’s own private brands, such as Tommy Armour, Calia by Carrie Underwood, Field & Stream and Ethos as well as key national vendors like Nike, Under Armour and Adidas.
For the grand opening weekend, customers will have the chance to win prizes and meet a special guest, former Carolina left winger Erik Cole.
