Dick’s Sporting Goods Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer Peter Land announced his retirement after three years working for the retailer.
Dick’s declined to comment on Land’s departure.
Land joined Dick’s in July 2020. He was responsible for internal and external corporate communications, including media relations, government affairs, internal, store, and executive communications, crisis communications, and corporate event management. He also oversaw CSR and sustainability and served on the Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation.
Before joining DKS, Land was a partner at Finsbury, a consulting firm specializing in corporate reputation, crisis management and capital markets. Other roles in his career included SVP, corporate communications, PepsiCo; chief marketing officer, Breeders’ Cup; director, marketing communications, National Basketball Association; and global managing director, Edelman.
In November 2020, Amanda Bonzo, also formerly from Finsbury, was hired as Dick’s senior director of communications.
