Dick’s Sporting Goods and Field & Stream store in the Viewmont Mall in Scranton, PA, closed its doors with plans to convert the space to a Dick’s House Of Sport.
The remodeled store is expected to reopen around the beginning of August, according to The Scranton Times-Tribune.
Dick’s launched the experiential House Of Sport concept in 2021 and has three stores in Rochester, NY; Knoxville, TN; and Minnetonka, MN.
Dick’s House of Sport stores include an outdoor turf field and running track that the retailer converts to an ice-skating rink during the winter, an indoor 35-foot rock climbing wall, a tech-enhanced batting cage, golf hitting bays, a putting green and other sports-related experiences.
Dick’s plans to open House of Sport stores this year at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, TN and the Prudential Center in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.
