Dallas Safari Club (DSC), an international hunting and conservation organization, has selected Blue Heron Communications of Norman, OK., as its outdoor media relations and marketing communications firm.
DSC became an independent organization in 1982. Its mission is conserving wildlife and wilderness lands, educating youth and the general public, and promoting and protecting the rights and interests of hunters worldwide. DSC grants for these efforts now top $300,000 annually.
Blue Heron will assist DSC in disseminating news about its conservation, education and advocacy programs.
“The name 'Dallas Safari Club' is a bit of an understatement, because this organization has become a true international force. It now has members across the country and around the globe. Each January it hosts one of the world's largest outdoor sporting conventions,” said Gary Giudice, president of Blue Heron Communications. “We're looking forward to growing the DSC brand and helping hunters and the public understand its impacts today.”
Ben Carter, DSC executive director, said, “We selected Blue Heron because of its passion and professionalism-also because of its broad expertise across the corporate, nonprofit and government sides of the outdoor world. This is a firm that understands how all the pieces fit together for the betterment of both the industry and conservation.”
Active clients of Blue Heron Communications include Smith & Wesson, Thompson/Center, Pure Fishing, Coleman, Stearns, Hodgman, Mad Dog, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Ranger Boats, Boone and Crockett Club, National Hunting and Fishing Day, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and others.
