Costco Corp. said U.S. same-store sales rose 9 percent in June including gasoline. Excluding the impact of gasoline price inflation, Costco said its same-store sales would have risen 5 percent in the U.S. International same-store sales rose 11 percent during the month, helped by foreign exchange rates, primarily in Canada.

Total sales for the five weeks ended July 6 rose 12 percent to $7.14 billion from $6.35 billion a year earlier.

For the first 44 weeks of its fiscal year, Costco reported sales rose 13 percent to $59.84 billion from $53.17 billion last year. Same-store sales rose 8 percent for the period, including 6 percent growth in the U.S. and 16 percent abroad.
