Mountain Hardwear raised $2,655 for The Conservation Alliance at its parking lot sale in May. The company gave a discount to any customer that made a donation to The Conservation Alliance. The contribution will help the organization in its ongoing efforts to protect wild places where outdoor customers recreate.

“We are grateful to Mountain Hardwear for taking the initiative to include The Conservation Alliance in their sale,” said Executive Director John Sterling. “It is a tremendous help when our members go above and beyond to support the Alliance.”

Mountain Hardwear is a long-time Conservation Alliance member with a strong commitment to conservation. The company saw an opportunity to leverage the parking lot sale to benefit the Alliance’s conservation efforts. The company gave a 5 or 10 percent discount to any customer that donated $5 or $10 respectively to the Alliance.

“We are pleased our sale generated so much support for the Alliance,” said Mountain Hardwear’s Paige Boucher. “Clearly our customers share our commitment to the environment.”

In addition to the sale fundraiser, Mountain Hardwear has been an active partner in The Conservation Alliance’s efforts to raise awareness about the work of Alliance grantees. The company has twice featured the California Wild Heritage Campaign, an Alliance grant recipient, in its catalog. Also in May, Mountain Hardwear participated in a trip to Washington, DC to talk to Congressional offices about the importance of Wilderness to outdoor companies.

“Mountain Hardwear is always willing to take the extra step to support our work,” said Sterling. “We couldn’t ask for a better partner in conservation.”
