On December 1, Maurizio Donadi will take the reins as Creative Director of Champion Europe, ushering in a “bold new era of innovation and design.” He will oversee the creative direction of the Champion product line and seasonal collection and support brand campaigns and strategic collaborations.
Donadi’s career spans years in the fashion industry, including working for Diesel, Giorgio Armani, Levi’s, and Ralph Lauren. He founded his workshop, Transnomadica 2012, where he “looks back to see forward” with a collected archive of vintage apparel and objects.
Lorenzo Moretti, CEO of Champion Europe, said: “We are excited to welcome Maurizio to the Champion family. His expertise and visionary approach to design will be a powerful asset to our brand, not only in terms of our product offering but also across a number of key consumer touch points within our business.
“We are confident that Maurizio will not only honor Champion’s unrivaled heritage but will also redefine the brand’s position within the sports and lifestyle sector. This appointment marks a significant step forward as we continue to push the limits of innovation and authenticity in every aspect of our business,” Moretti concluded.
Donadi added, “The energy and enthusiasm surrounding Champion is palpable, and I’m confident that together, we’re on the path to achieving extraordinary success.”
In early October, Authentic Brands Group, the owner of Ted Baker and Quiksilver, finalized the acquisition of Champion, the company’s second-largest acquisition.
Champion generates nearly £2.25 billion ($3 billion) in global retail sales annually.
