Carver Skateboards Names New President

Carver Skateboards has hired Dave Root as its president. Root was previously general manager for Absolute Board Co. and brings with him two decades of industry experience and process implementation having helped to manage skate hardgoods brands Penny, Z-Flex and Arbor Skateboards.

GoPro Appoints Board Member

GoPro Inc. announced that Shaz Kahng has joined GoPro’s Board of Directors. Her past roles include global general manager of Nike Cycling and president/CEO at Lucy Activewear.

RV Retailer Expands In Texas To 16 Stores

RV Retailer signed an agreement to acquire Sherrod’s RV Center with two locations in the Beaumont, TX market. The stores will be re-branded ExploreUSA Supercenter of Beaumont. RVR also announced it had opened a sales and service facility in Tyler, TX.

Winter Dew Tour To Serve As A U.S. Olympic Qualifying Event

The Adventure Sports Network Group announced its annual Winter Dew Tour to be held at Copper Mountain this December 16-19. It will serve as a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Olympic qualifying event for men’s and women’s halfpipe and slopestyle snowboarding and freeskiing competitions.

Dorel To Sell Cycling Segment To Pon Holdings

Dorel Industries Inc. announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell Dorel Sports, its bicycle segment that includes Cannondale and Schwinn, to Pon Holdings B.V., a Dutch mobility group, for U.S. $810 million in cash.
