German surfboard manufacturer Hydroflex Technologies GmbH, which makes
the bufo boards brand, has received an an investment by the Prince of
Hohenzollern in order to help with its U.S. expansion.

“The investment enables us to grow even faster and to approach the
important U.S. and Australian markets,” said Sven Brauers, Managing
Director of Hydroflex Technologies GmbH, based in Wolfsburg,
Germany.

In addition to its own “bufo boards” brand, the company will also
manufacture surfboards under the technological brand “Hydroflex
Technologies” within a private labeling frame for other brands already
established on the market.

The investor, His Serene Highness Karl Friedrich von Hohenzollern, heir
to the throne, is convinced of the company's success: “The surfboard
sector has been undergoing changes since the collapse of the Blank
manufacturer Clark Foam in December 2005: more and more boards are
produced in the Far East. The innovative production technology
facilitates commercial production in the surfing nations and prevents
further migration to low-wage countries.”

Pipe Master and surfing legend Robbie Page has won the Australian
championships twice consecutively already in his age group on a
Hydroflex board and is thrilled by the surfboard: “It is the fastest
and most efficient board I have ever surfed on.”

In cooperation with international surfing pros, the company developed a
completely new, flexible board for surfing. The company bases its
patented construction design on nature: A bionic board structure sets
new standards in surfing features and surfboard breaking strength while
allowing for the use of far more environmentally friendly materials.
