Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment, based in Fremont, CA, has named U.S. mountaineering veteran, Carlos Buhler, as its newest ambassador.
Buhler began his career in American mountaineering at age
fifteen on a National Outdoor Leadership School course in Wyoming. He
was twenty-eight when he was invited to join the American expedition
attempting the East 'Kangshung' face of Everest, its last, unclimbed
flank. Buhler holds the highest
honors in American mountaineering, including the top award for
mountaineering achievement, the American Alpine Club's Underhill
Award.
“Carlos will be a perfect addition to our team because he is well known for his responsibility and leadership when mountaineering,” said Matt Brooks, president of Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment Co. “Our ambassadors must adhere to a specific set of criteria that makes them leaders, and they must carry out the message of Brooks-Range with safety being a top concern. Not only does Carlos fulfill that criteria, he also has a passion for discovery and adventure that is contagious to everyone around him.”
