Bownet, a supplier of portable sports nets and goals, has completed its acquisition of South Bat, an Argentinian Guayaibi Wood Bat manufacturer with offices in Southern California.

The acquisition expands Bownet’s footprint in the sporting goods industry, solidifying the company's reputation as an innovative leader in technical sports equipment.

“As an up and coming sporting goods brand, we have worked hard to manage our growth in a smart, strategic manner. The addition of South Bat is our first effort to extend our company beyond portable athletic nets. The Guayaibi wood story, 'The Power is in the Wood' is a very compelling one that fits with our philosophy of innovation. What better company to tell that story than Bow Net”, stated Jack Lucas, president and CEO of Triad Sports Group, LLc.

“Southbat will be run as a Bownet Company. We believe our grass roots marketing, world class customer service, and “Never Out Of Stock Inventory” sales model will help us energize the wood bat consumer & retailers just as we did with portable nets,” added Lucas.

BowNet also announced the hiring of Sebastian Naum, co-founder of Southbat.

“He was the face of South Bat and will stay onboard, heading up the promotions, product development and will keep the original vision in clear view for many years to come.” Said Jonathan Hayden, EVP, Triad Sports Group and Bownet.
