Bowlmor AMF has formally completed its acquisition of Brunswick Corporation’s bowling center, further solidifying Bowlmor AMF’s position as the world’s largest bowling center operator.  Bowlmor AMF announced on July 17 its intent to purchase Brunswick’s bowling center business, which is comprised of 85 centers in the United States and Canada, operating under the Brunswick Bowling, Brunswick Zone, Brunswick Zone XL and Brunswick’s brands.  With the completion of the acquisition, Bowlmor AMF now has more than 340 locations, 9,000 employees and annual revenue of approximately $600 million.

“As of today, Bowlmor AMF and Brunswick’s bowling center business have come together to create one great company dedicated to bringing the best bowling and social entertainment experience to consumers across North America,” said Tom Shannon, Chairman, CEO and President of Bowlmor AMF.  “Our strategic growth plan is focused on elevating the bowling experience, furthering our commitment to league play and re-establishing bowling in popular culture.  This transaction not only enables us to expand Bowlmor AMF’s geographic footprint in key markets, but also provides a great opportunity to drive continued growth and re-energize the bowling industry.”

Bowlmor AMF is operating the Brunswick bowling center business as a stand-alone entity, retaining the retail branding and maintaining existing locations.

Bowlmor AMF is the largest operator of bowling centers in the world, with 340 domestic locations and 8 locations in Mexico that specialize in corporate and special events, as well as league and walk-in retail bowling.
